NEVER LET ME GO - Kazuo Ishiguro, 2005

Not what I was expecting, I must say. I found this only fairly enjoyable but maybe that is because I thought it would be more like The Remains of the Day. I was wrong to expect that Ishiguro would go over old ground but I wish he had.
It wasn’t the grim fate which awaited the characters which I disliked. I thought that was handled well. How the friends cope in different ways with a clearly defined and unoptimistic future is interesting but I thought the exploration of ‘art as a window into the soul’ was disappointing. And I just don’t like science fiction much.
