BRING ON THE EMPTY HORSES – David Niven, 1975

The title is part of a very funny anecdote and this is a very funny book. EXCEPT that the treatment of the horses is not funny at all. Thankfully we now have laws to ensure that animals in films are treated correctly and not harmed.

Niven charms his way around Hollywood and has many tales to tell. His writing is amusing, but also perceptive; he has few illusions but revels in the glamour when it happens.
