HOW PROUST CAN CHANGE YOUR LIFE Alain de Botton, 1997

I came across this again recently and remembered enjoying it immensely the first time round. I love de Botton’s way of simplifying, without belittling, the works of the great philosophers.  (The Consolations of Philosophy is another of my favourites).

Here we get the essence of Proust, which is about all you need, unless you’ve got a few years to spare to devote entirely to the reading of his works. Proust is thoroughly exhumed, examined and explained. Fantastic.
