THE STRANGE HISTORY OF BONNIE AND CLYDE – John Treherne, 1984

The strangest thing about this, to be honest, is how it found a publisher. It reads like someone’s BA Dissertation. The tale is interspersed with ‘learned’ quotes such as how William Sargant showed in ‘Battle for the Mind’ how stress changes people’s ideologies.
To write this entry, I have just looked up the date of publication and am surprised to see that it is 1984. Treherne clearly re-hashed old information. Even his discussion of the film interpretations is uninformative.

I read this full of anticipation. Unfortunately, it was rather a disappointment.
