This is a very simple biography but I expect that, marketed as a companion to the ‘Little House’ books, that is its intention. (The Real-Life Laura, as it says on the back.)
There is some interesting background information on Laura’s parents and it corrects the chronology of the novels. For example, the events of Little House on the Prairie took place before those of Little House in the Big Woods and Laura was only a toddler while the family lived in Kansas, too young to remember for herself.
It is lovely to read anything new, though. Whenever I re-read the series (which I do on a fairly regular basis) I feel so sad at the end. Knowing what happened to Laura after the early years of her marriage is a way to keep in contact.
