MONSIGNOR QUIXOTE – Graham Greene, 1982

A real gem!
One of Greene’s later works but a masterpiece nonetheless.
Clearly inspired by Cervantes, Greene’s update retains all the vivacity of the original.
The journey throughout Spain is enlivened by discussions which stretch the modern mind.
Marx wrote that religion was the opium of the people – see how it is turned on is head. And as for Jesus being The Good Shepherd….

I loved it!
