THE MISTY HARBOUR – Georges Simenon

Another superb Maigret novel.

A man is found with money in his pocket but no knowledge of his whereabouts. Then, when Maigret has taken on the case, and returned him to his home in Ouistreham, he is poisoned. Maigret must win the trust of the surly inhabitants and, although no one seems willing to talk, solve the mystery which is as murky as the weather.
