THE AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF A CORNISH SMUGGLER – Captain Harry Carter, 1900

This is not an easy read and is far less sensational than the title would lead you to believe.
But it is captivating, nonetheless. It tells of events which happened over 100 years around Prussia Cove in the far south-west of Cornwall.
It is a beautiful book, reprinted in old type and full of the ambiguities of the age.

Anyone with a love of Cornwall and its history should read this.
